Summertime Breads - a Workshop for Everyone
Saturday, 19th June, 2 - 5 p.m., £30pp
Treat yourself and the special people in your life to some delicious bread (sharing optional!). In this workshop the focus is on simple breads for the summer; a pile of Khobz flatbreads with za'atar baked on the hob or BBQ .... soft baps for wrapping around burgers and hotdogs, also on the programme is a Porcini mushroom and soft cheese tear and share crown.
Suitable for all ages and abilities!
Stop for Sunday Tea. Suitable for all skill levels.
Sunday, 4th July, 10 - 1 p.m., £30pp
Three traditional breads which are guaranteed to become some of your go-to recipes for teatime treats.
A dozen tiny but beautifully dainty Cornish Splits buns best served with clotted cream and quality jam. 6 Teacakes for toasting, spreading with butter and enjoy with a cup of tea and a soft Sandwich loaf to thinly slice and wrap around cucumbers, cream cheese, salt, pepper.
Smashing Sourdough Bread Suitable for beginners or if you wish to practice your sourdough skills
Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th July, £50pp
The course is over a weekend, making on Saturday afternoon and baking on Sunday morning
On booking you will be provided with a shopping and equipment list, invitation to join the online course and recipes will arrive soon before the day. If you don't have a starter then you will need one, it is a simple thing to make, please state when booking and instructions for creating your starter from scratch will be sent by email.
Day 1 Making Day (2 - 5 p.m.) We cover all aspects of making perfect sourdough with step-by-step instructions on starter building, maintaining, refreshment and storing. Using some of your starter to make two classic loaves, learn the pull and fold "no-knead" technique, shape and strengthen the dough over the afternoon in readiness for Day 2. There will be time today to make a batch of chocolate chip sourdough cookies using some of the starter discarded when refreshing your starter so there is no waste.
Day 2 Baking Morning (10 - 11.30 a.m.) Timed so that your bakes will be ready for lunch! Master techniques for successfully baking sourdough at home, while these are happily baking let's cook a batch of pancakes !

Make a selection of fabulous sourdough breads enhanced with flavourful fillings, a batch of toasty seeded crackers, sinful soft traybake sourdough cinnamon swirls, Huffer-style rolls and learn tips on how to put your "discard" starter to best use so that nothing is wasted.
