SOURDOUGH BREAD MAKING WORKSHOPS
A warm welcome awaits you for my next two Sourdough Bread Workshops, on 10th May and 7th June. These are taking place at The Taste Academy, Ipswich IP2 0AQ, and are restricted numbers to ensure a great experience for all.

10th May - Sourdough, £150pp, this workshop is suitable for any level of experience in sourdough baking from beginners or those more experienced but wishing to improve. Today I will take you on a journey from making sourdough starters to the finished loaf, with tips and demonstrations along the way. You will create two loaves from scratch and starter discard tortillas or rosemary fougasse, take home the boule which will be cold proofed in your refrigerator ready to bake the following day. I will show how to bake your bread so that you will be fully informed to bake your own at home!
We will cover: starter creation, tools of the trade, discover different flours, using wheat and rye to make a sourdough boule and rye sourdough, what to do with discard, techniques for the best result, best baking method, try my freshly baked sourdough loaf and focaccia to accompany a light lunch.
7th June - More Sourdough, £150pp, suitable for learners and more experienced alike, this workshop is suitable for anyone wishing to learn and try new methods with their sourdoughs, continuing the journey to creating successful, flavoursome and nutritious sourdough breads and bakes.
We will cover: build confidence as a sourdough baker, expand your scope with a variety of different flours and add to your sourdough bread repertoire, making a sourdough miche with miso and black sesame topping, sweet cinnamon kringle, sumac flatbreads, seedy crackers or grissini with your discard, prepare a stiff starter and learn how to keep and use it for best results. Take home some raw dough ready to bake in the morning at home.
Shopping: both of these workshops will require a round 500g cane banneton (20cm) lined with a cloth. Please bring something suitable to take all your creations home in, and your apron if you use one for baking.

A wonderful day to prepare for your Easter guests, enjoy a delightful and productive time of flour, kneading and glazes. I believe that making bread is a therapeutic and rewarding pastime, as is sharing the produce you make with loved ones. You cannot rush, but you can breathe and feel the dough as it transforms into soft and pillowy Zesty Hot Cross Buns, Greek Easter Bread with Chocolate and Toasted Almonds, Goat Cheese, Onion and Potato Focaccia
