Over the pandemic years Sue developed live, online Bread Workshops to be enjoyed from the safety of your own home, ideal for fun reunions and team building workshops. Online works brilliantly in so many ways: no travel costs or strange kitchens to worry about, keeps the cost down, saves time and delivers productive and enjoyable classes for every ability. In-person Bread Workshops: small groups of bakers join Sue to make bread together in an informal, convivial environment. These workshops are often based around a theme, include refreshments and all the ingredients and equipment.

Tempting Enriched Breads

This in-person class will be based at the cookery school kitchens at The Food Hub, Nr.Debenham in Suffolk, and a masterclass learning to make all types of enriched bread. By enriching your dough with the inclusion milk, butter, eggs or oils the resulting cooked bread has a superior crumb and keeps well, but of course and most important tastes sublime! The class is suitable for beginners and intermediate bread bakers.
We will be making a gorgeous chocolate and hazelnut filled Babka loaf, some pretty Devonshire splits and Focaccia with rosemary, lemon and baby potatoes. Sue will be making a batch of hot English muffins for tea or a batch of her Chelsea Buns!
This workshop includes tea as well as plenty of tips and demonstrations by Sue.

International Breads

This is an in-person workshop based in the cookery school at The Food Hub, Nr. Debenham, Suffolk.
A day of contrasting styles of bread: soft Turkish flatbreads Bazlama, traditional twice-cooked Bagels and a beautifully shiny braided Challah Loaf. None of these creations are too challenging but they are all extremely impressive as well as delicious! Enjoy a relaxing afternoon making bread, this class is suitable for every level of experience.
Mid-afternoon we will enjoy tea with some of my warm, freshly baked Chelsea buns or Cornish Splits.

Discover New Sourdough Skills

This is an in-person workshop based in the cookery school at The Taste Academy, Ipswich, Suffolk.
Add to your sourdough skills by learning extra ways with sourdough. Using my Mockmill you will be able to create some of your own fresh wholemeal flour which will be put to use in a traditional rye bread, spelt sourdough loaf, large fig and fennel sourdough boule. You will also be able to put the excess starter (discard) from refreshments to good use with some of Sue's delicious inventions. You will need to bring your starter and a banneton as the boule is to take home and bake tomorrow. If you do not have these items but would like me to supply, please let me know.
This workshop is suitable for everyone interested in expanding their range of sourdough bread, come along for a fun time!
